Hey! I am running for City Council in Shawnee’s second ward. I grew up in Olathe and graduated from Rockhurst High School in Kansas City, Missouri. I then attended Iowa State University where I met my wife, Kellie. After graduating with an Engineering degree, Kellie and I started our lives together in Saint Louis. After being in STL for a little over a year, we decided to move to Kansas City to be closer to family and the Royals, who had just lost the 2014 world series.
Once back in KC, I made the transition to renewable energy and started to work for a local solar company. When Kellie and I decided we were ready to buy our first home, we saw Shawnee as a great place to plant our roots and eventually raise a family. We have been living at our home in Shawnee for 2 years.
I would love to hear from Shawnee residents and I will be sure to respond in a timely and professional manner. In fact, here is my email address Rondon4Kansas@gmail.com let’s chat!
I am an optimist. I joined the solar industry because I wanted to make the world a better place. I am always looking for better ways of doing things. I hope to bring this optimism and drive for constant improvement to the Shawnee City Council.
We are all neighbors, It is OK for us to disagree sometimes as long as we are respectful. People have good reasons for having their beliefs. By asking questions and listening, we can learn a lot from each other. Everyone has something to contribute!
I became an Eagle Scout while in high school. In college, I was elected to several leadership positions in the organizations in which I participated.
As a professional I am very active in the Clean Energy Business Council and the Metro KC Climate Action Coalition.
